Make a Difference

We raise funds by membership dues, raffles, contributions and pledges, to meet committed goals and to complete projects that facilitates the school and its students. We maintain a keen relationship with York Castle High School. As an off-spring of that institution we connect via written communications and social events to learn of more way to help the high school. We Assist and cooperate with the high school in order to facilitate academic and extracurricular programs along with other student activities. We award several types of scholarships to outstanding achievers and others in need.

How Donations Are Used

York Castle High nestled in the hills of Brown’s Town St. Ann Jamaica West Indies has a far
reaching span of dedicated past students willing to commit time, utilize resources, expend energy
and work hard to support and uplift our beloved York Castle High School staff and students. As
Winston Churchill stated “We (Yorkists) make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what
we give” and as such this is the reason why the York Castle Alumni Association New York Chapter
was recently revamped and incorporated as a 501c3 organization under new leadership and with
trustee guidance.
Little is much when God is in it and in less than a year, this group of erudite past students came
together to provide the following support to our alma mater:
 33 Computers with Accessories and 6 Printers to enhanced their Technology Department.
 30 Tennis Rackets and 120 tennis balls for the Athletic Department
 16 pairs of Running Spikes and additional sport apparel for the Athletic Department
 12 Footballs for the Athletic Department
 $800 US dollars donation for accommodations expenses towards Team YC 2018 ISSA Boys & Girls
Athletic Championships
 $400 US dollars donation to YC Optimist representative at World Oratorical Championship 2018 in
Missouri, USA.
 $10,000 US dollars profited from UJAA Mega Raffle 2018 towards the Solar Energy Plant Project.
We are very proud of the above accomplishments because we believe in paying it forward and
investing in our future of young people. We implore all Yorkists both home and abroad to join this
movement to propel York Castle High School to lead in educating our children to compete in the
global economy, to become productive citizens and have their own sense of social responsibility.
